LPG Storage Vessel

LPG Storage Vessel

Introduction

An LPG Storage Vessel is a specially engineered pressure vessel designed for the safe storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Propane, Butane, or their mixtures) under pressure. LPG is highly flammable, requires strict safety compliance, high-quality manufacturing, and robust leak‐proof construction to prevent ignition hazards. Our LPG Storage Vessels comply with ASME Section VIII Division 1, API 2510, EU PED 2014/68/EU, and OISD guidelines ensuring maximum operational safety, corrosion resistance, regulatory compliance, and long service life for industrial, commercial, and domestic LPG installations.

What is an LPG Storage Vessel?

An LPG Storage Vessel is a sealed, high-pressure vessel that stores LPG in liquid form by maintaining a controlled pressure level.

It is a key component of:

  • LPG Bulk Storage Plants
  • Auto LPG Dispensing Stations
  • Oil & Gas Infrastructure
  • Petrochemical & Refinery Facilities
  • Industrial Heating & Fuel Systems

It provides continuous fuel supply, compensates during peak consumption, and ensures energy security.

Design & Engineering Features

1) Design Standards:
Our Vessels are Engineered to Global Codes
  • ASME Section VIII Div. 1 — U Stamp (on request)
  • API 2510 for LPG storage & handling
  • ISO 4706 standard references
  • OISD-STD 144 & 179 (India)
  • PED/CE Marking for European supply
  • Approvals accepted: DNV / TUV / Lloyd’s / BV / SGS
2)Pressure Ratings:
  • Typical Design Pressure: 14–25 bar
  • Custom Design: Up to 35 bar for special propane-rich mixtures
  • MAWP compliance with site ambient conditions (temperature correction included)
3)Design Temperature:
  • –40°C to +55°C (Standard LPG service)
  • Special insulation for extreme climates (Arctic/Desert conditions)
Material of Construction :

We use certified LPG-compatible steels:

  • Carbon Steel: SA 516 Gr.60 / Gr.70
  • Seamless Pipes & Nozzles: SA 106 Gr.B
  • Flanges: SA 105 / SA 350 LF2
  • Stainless Steel internals (optional) for corrosive environments

Each vessel material is backed by EN 10204 3.1 MTC with automated traceability.

Surface Protection & Corrosion System
  • External: Grit Blasting SA 2.5 + Epoxy/PU Top Coat
  • Internal: Anti-corrosion coating optional
  • Cathodic protection for underground vessels

Color coding compliant with LPG standards.
