Fractionator Column – Column-Type Pressure Vessels

Fractionator Column

Introduction

A Fractionator Column is a vertical column-type pressure vessel specifically designed for fractional separation of liquid mixtures based on differences in boiling points. It is a critical component in refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical processing units, and specialty manufacturing where precise separation of components is essential for product quality and process efficiency.

High-Precision Component Separation for Process Industries – our fractionator columns are engineered for high separation efficiency, energy optimization, and reliable long-term operation in demanding process environments.

Product Description

At NORDSTONE., we manufacture fractionator columns with optimized process design, robust mechanical integrity, and full compliance with international standards including ASME Section VIII Div.1, API, and TEMA. Our columns are designed for precise vapor–liquid contact, efficient mass transfer, and minimal pressure drop, ensuring high-purity product fractions.

A typical fractionator column consists of a vertical cylindrical shell, trays or packing for vapor–liquid interaction, feed inlets, side draws, bottom product outlets, an overhead vapor outlet with condenser connection, and a reboiler system integrated at the bottom. These elements are custom-engineered based on process requirements to deliver consistent and repeatable separation performance.
