Multimedia Filter Pressure Vessels are advanced filtration systems designed to remove suspended solids, turbidity, color, and particulate contaminants from liquids. They are widely used in industrial water treatment, chemical processing, petrochemical, power plants, and environmental engineering industries to ensure clean, safe, and process-ready water.
At NORDSTONE, we design and manufacture multimedia filter vessels with optimized media layers, high filtration efficiency, and compliance with international standards, including ASME Section VIII Div.1, API, and PED.
A multimedia filter vessel uses multiple layers of filtration media with varying particle sizes and densities to capture suspended solids effectively. Water or liquid enters the vessel, passes through the layered media bed, and emerges as clarified water.
Vertical or horizontal cylindrical pressure vessel
Top distributor and under-drain system for uniform flow
Multimedia bed (commonly Anthracite, Sand, Gravel)
Inlet and outlet nozzles
Air release and drainage systems
Manways for inspection, media replacement, and maintenance
This multi-layer approach ensures progressive filtration, where coarse particles are trapped in the top layer, and finer particles are captured in the lower layers, achieving high turbidity removal and long media life.
Standard design with three to four layers of media
Effective for general water treatment and industrial applications
Multiple filter vessels in series for enhanced filtration efficiency
Suitable for high-purity water or complex wastewater streams
Operates under controlled pressure to increase filtration rate
